So i never had time to get a picture done for the Play At Home round of the Cover Contest over on the IDW boards.
Nor did i get something in on time for this months lineart competition (i had something started but it wasn't turning out as i had planned - i'm going to finish that and post it on my DA account).
On the other hand i got interested in something that is running on his DA page. Click here to find out more.
Basically he is looking for artists to participate in re-drawing on old G2 comic. Well i'd never read the G2 comics before but submitted myself as a willing participant in this.
What's interesting about this for me is that i had no idea who the characters were that are featured on the orginal page that i offered to draw so i had to do a bit of digging and guess work. So in this piece you have Ransack and Jolt.
The other dudes getting torn to shreds... well i have no idea who they are. The intention is that the guy still in one piece in panel 2 is the same character featured in every panel after that... he had a bad day!!
One of the reasons why i also wanted to do this was as a bit of practise in preparation for drawing my first mosaic. I have never drawn a sequential TF page before and in fact haven't drawn a sequential piece at all since i was less than 18 years old!!
Overall as a starting point i am happy with how this turned out. I still see much room for improvement, for example i think that my line weights still need worked on, i can't draw hands and Ransacks rotor blade changes size slightly throughout the page and the panel borders and layout need a bit of work done.
Anyway please enjoy the piece.
Drawn on Bristol board with Micron pens.
p.s. There is also a version of this with added sound effects and speech bubbles that i might add to the gallery... i also might do a comparison piece between this and the original so it is clearer where i have made my changes.
Really nice sequentials! You're really improving a whole lot. My only critique would be the same as the person above me ^^. Other than that really nice work!

Thanks for that. Yeah the weapon does look kind of funny. Originally i had no frame of reference as to how it should look as the original comic page didn't make it clear. By the time i stumbled upon a decent reference picture i kind of drew it in rather fast without much attention cos it was very late in the process.
But a definite note-to-self is to add perspective to things like weapons from now on... oh and to spend more time looking for references!!
Congrats on winning the Play-At-Home round. Your entry was streets ahead of the competition although that's not to say that there weren't some other outstanding entries in there as well. It's just yours was exceptional!
Thanks for the kind words. I can't devote as much time to drawing as i would like so progress is slow, but i am trying. Hopefully i will continue to improve.
Knowing the original ages i see this as a Improvement overall What i will be doing some is doing some compare shots of the Revamped Works Also i will need to get a Letterer Sorted for the text in the pictures and will get round to getting some colours sorted
I have andy doing pages 5 and 6 i have this one for you [link] Am awaiting news from jazz if hes doing page 3 or 4 whichever one he does i will do the other one i have added the link to your page to my journal so people can see the difference between the old one and the new one and gonna speak to Seibertronion Space station about them setting up a DA account linked to the site So theres a whole section linked for the Revamped Generations

I'm glad you like what i did. I know that there's room for improvement but i'm happy enough with how this turned out as a first effort.
Definitely keep me in mind for any other projects you try out and i'll certainly do another page from this if you need me to.
I can't wait until it's finished to read the new version in all its glory.
